Scope

This policy describes data handling on the Shinjuku Food Compass website. It applies to the pages operated for this site and to any future editorial contact channel, but not to restaurant, map, government or other external websites reached through outbound links.

Information stored by the site

The main guide stores the visitor’s selected interface language in browser local storage so the same language can be shown on the next visit. This preference stays on the device unless the visitor clears site data. The site does not require an account.

When a public contact channel is opened, the sender address, message and included information will be used only to respond, review a correction, investigate abuse or keep an editorial record. Do not send card numbers, passport details or confidential medical records.

Advertising and Google AdSense

When advertising is enabled, the site may use Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers, and process information for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and—where permitted and consented to—personalization.

Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services in its partner-sites information. Visitors can also manage advertising preferences through My Ad Center.

Consent and privacy choices

For visitors in regions where Google requires a certified consent management platform, the operator will configure Google Privacy & messaging or another Google-certified CMP before serving personalized ads. When that message is active, a “Privacy & cookie settings” control appears on monetized pages so the visitor can revisit the choice.

Rejecting personalized advertising does not necessarily remove every advertisement; non-personalized or limited ads may be used where permitted by the applicable configuration and law.

External links

Restaurant and map links open services operated by third parties. Those services can collect location, account, device and usage data under their own policies. Opening a map link is optional and is not required to read the guide.

Children

The site is a general travel-information resource and is not directed to children under 13. The operator does not knowingly request personal information from children through the site.

Retention and security

Editorial correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the inquiry, document a correction, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations. No static website or email system can guarantee absolute security, so visitors should limit submissions to information necessary for the request.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when the site activates advertising, analytics, a different form provider or another data-processing service. Material changes will be reflected by the update date. Privacy questions can be sent through the contact page.
