Advertising can support maintenance of the guide, but it must remain visibly separate from restaurant recommendations and navigation.

How the site may earn revenue

Shinjuku Food Compass may display advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Revenue may be generated when eligible advertisements are viewed or interacted with under the advertising platform’s rules. Visitors are never asked or encouraged to click an advertisement.

Advertising does not determine editorial choices

No paid rankingRestaurant order, inclusion and wording are based on editorial usefulness, not advertising spend.
Clear labelsManual ad units are separated from editorial content and labeled “Advertisement.”
No imitationAds are not styled as menu buttons, download links, emergency controls or restaurant recommendations.
Distance from actionsAds are not placed directly beside search filters, map buttons, language controls or other high-risk navigation elements.
Content firstAdvertising appears only on pages with substantial publisher-created content. Legal, contact, error and confirmation pages are not configured for ads.

Manual placements and Auto ads

The site contains reserved manual placements after useful content sections on the homepage and within long-form guides. They remain hidden until valid AdSense publisher and ad-unit IDs are supplied. Auto ads may also be enabled in the AdSense account, subject to the operator’s review of the preview and placement controls.

Privacy and consent

Advertising can involve cookies and other identifiers. The privacy policy explains the data disclosures. For the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the operator must publish a Google-certified consent message before personalized ads are served.

Sponsored content and affiliate links

The current guide does not use paid restaurant rankings or affiliate booking links. If sponsored content or affiliate links are introduced later, they will be identified at the relevant content and this disclosure will be updated.

Invalid traffic

The operator does not purchase artificial traffic, exchange clicks, ask friends or visitors to click ads, or place ads where accidental interaction is likely. Suspected invalid traffic or misleading placement should be reported through the contact page.
