Purpose
Shinjuku Food Compass is an independent visitor guide designed to reduce the practical friction of eating around Shinjuku Station. It combines a compact restaurant finder with original planning guides about station geography, dietary communication, unfamiliar restaurant charges and nighttime safety.
The site is not an official tourism office, restaurant association or booking service. It does not imply endorsement by the venues or public bodies linked from its pages.
How places are selected
Research and updates
Store details are checked against official venue pages where available. Safety and emergency guidance links to public authorities and national tourism information. The date shown on each page records the last editorial review, not a guarantee that every business condition remains unchanged.
Restaurant hours, prices, menu items, certification, reservation rules and station routes can change without notice. Readers should make a same-day check through the official links before traveling to a venue.
Original editorial value
The site does not simply reproduce restaurant descriptions. Its main value is the organization of choices into visitor decisions: station side, queue tolerance, payment rules, dietary risk, nighttime route and fallback plan. The long-form guides are written specifically for this site and are reviewed for consistency with the restaurant finder.
Advertising independence
Advertising may be used to fund hosting, maintenance and future research. Ads are labeled and placed between substantial content blocks. Advertisers do not receive control over restaurant selection or guide conclusions. See the advertising disclosure for the full policy.
Corrections
Corrections are welcome, especially for a closed branch, changed hours, a modified payment rule or an inaccurate dietary claim. Use the contact and corrections page and include the relevant official source where possible.
